Battery Chargers from Xantrex (Trace),Stanbury Scarf and Lord and Cristec (With a mention of Trace DR series inverter/chargers)

Xantrex

Xantrex make a great range of battery chargers. We currently have the Xantrex Truecharge 40 am 12 volt model on special, please visit our specials page using the link above to see these units.

Cristecsolar power installation

These are a French built marine battery charger we tried on an installation and were very impressed with. These are small and compact wall mount units with a huge voltage input range and three outlets for charging multiple batteries. Tough enough to take to sea in a yacht these battery chargers are equally at home withstanding the rigors of motor home installation or gracing the wall of the discerning solar power user. Pictured right is the solar installation that started our love affair with the French chargers! You can see a Latronics inverter, a Blue Skies Maximising regulator and the Cristec charger above the "Electrolyte Burns" safety sign.

Available in 12 or 24 volts only at this stage ...

The 12 volt units range from 16 amps to 80 amps.

The 24 volt units range from 8 amps through to 75 amps.

The input voltage range is from 90 to 260 volts 50 or 60 cycles so if you fit these units to a yacht you can use them with any power supply in the world. If you use them at home any old generator will power them satisfactorily. All these units have three outlets, you can connect three batteries, they will charge sequentially from outlet one (main battery) through to outlet three automatically. Marine grade components are standard.

Stanbury Scarf and Lord battery charger

Stanbury Scarf and Lord

Industrial battery chargers specifically made to run on a generator. These battery chargers have a wide voltage range on the input side and use switch mode technology for lighter weight. Available in ranges from 25 through to 100 amp in single phase and up to 220 amps in three phase for 24 and 48 volt battery banks. Call or email with your requirements.

The charger pictured left is a Stanbury Scarf and Lord 55 amp 48 volt unit we installed in a residence near here in October 2005. It works very well and represents very good value for money for 48 volt battery charger.

Buy a battery charger and get an inverter free!

Trace DR series inverter/chargers have been around for a long time now and proved to be bullet proof. You can read about them on our inverter/charger page. The reason they are mentioned here is that being older technology devices with modified square wave outputs they are no longer that popular with the "sine wave set".

To counter this the price has been reduced dramatically. One thing for sure about them is that the battery charger is world class. Adjustable for a wide variety of batteries and battery sizes the charger fitted to these inverter/chargers is state of the art! It offers genuine three stage charging with optional temperature compensation. If you buy one of these units on special you will get a charger for less than the price of the above units. The bonus is that you get the inverter for free!
