Fuses, circuit breakers, dual battery solenoids
Inverter fuse or battery main fuses:
Australian standard AS 4086.2-1997 requires that battery installations are fitted with fusing on one or both conductors depending on system earthing. We recommend fitting a fuse to both the positive and negative leads regardless.
We supply a twin disconnect fuse that meets the requisite Australian Standards on battery and inverter fusing. Available in two holder sizes with a range of fuses available:
Small: Takes fuses up to 160 amps and suitable for most installations
Large: Takes fuses up to 300 amps for large solar installations
Calculating your fuse size: Divide your inverter half hour rating by the following to determine the approximate fuse you need.
12 volts: Divide by 10
24 volts: Divide by 20
48 volts: Divide by 40
Circuit breakers:
Always a better bet than a fuse a circuit breaker provides resetable protection system for power circuits in your installation.
We supply quality circuit breakers and housings for all your DC requirements.
Until we get our act together and finish this page please email us with your requirements.
Voltage controlled solenoids:
A voltage controlled solenoid is a very handy device. If you run two batteries in your camper van or 4WD it is generally because you wnat your starting battery for starting and an additional battery for lighting, the fridge or other electrical needs. A voltage controlled solenoid will join your batteries together when a charging sourse is available and disconnect them when the charge supply ceases.
