Southwest Windpower H80

Southwest Windpower wind generators

Hi tech wind generators at affordable prices

We sell the Southwest Windpower range of wind generators. This range includes the AirX, H40, H80 and Whisper 175 turbines. These wind turbines are specific battery charging devices and are provided complete ready to install on your tower. Typically the tower will be made from readily available pipe or steel tubing.

Tower kits are available for all models. These kits provide the structural components, clamps, cables, turnbuckles etc required to built a pipe based tower that will hold your wind generator secure in extremes of wind.

The AirX

The AirX is a direct decendant from the original Air 303 and 403 turbine series, a series of wind generators that have been in production for over 20 years. In that time it has evolved into a highly reliable and long lasting wind generator that represents excellent value for money. This is the most popular series of wind turbine in the world with over 40,000 made! Available in 12, 24 or 48 volt outputs in land, marine and industrial versions.

Whisper H80 wind generator :

The Whisper H80 is a medium output wind turbine for domestic and telecommunications use. Blades are optimised for maximum output in low wind speeds and in a suitable location this wind turbine can supply the entire power needs of a moderate sized house. It is this turbine we have installed high on a hilltop on a bass straight Island and it is proving to be a powerhouse, well able to withstand Roaring 40's gales. Field selectable to charge 12, 24 or 48 volt battery banks or available in a high voltage version for long distance transmission of energy. (See picture of this installation on our information pages.)

Whisper 175

The most powerful wind turbine we selllarge wind generator

The Whisper 175, 3000-watt rated turbine will deliver in excess of 500 KWH per month in a 12 mph wind. This machine has a 14-foot (4.26m) rotor diameter providing 175 sq. ft. of swept area. The 175 has been recently redesigned, incorporating a stronger, larger yaw shaft, new blade stabilizer straps and a third spindle bearing for increased reliability.
The 175 features a hand laid fiberglass and foam core blade for smooth, high efficiency operation and low wind start-up. It also incorporates the patented "angle governor" design for quiet operation in high winds. The 175 is an excellent machine for village power projects, farms, ranches, back-up power and remote homes with large energy demands. Around $9500.00, call for current price. Available in Australia as "import to order" only. 24, 48 or high voltage models.
